DMV Hours at Service Locations (Benning Ridge, Georgetown, Rhode Island, Southwest): 

closed Sunday and Monday 

open by appointment only on Tuesdays: 8:15-4pm 

Wednesday 9:15-4pm 

Thursday, Friday, Saturday: 8:15-4pm 

Operating Status: can do online or in person for Driver's Licenses, but only online for car registrations 

Applying for Real ID or Limited Purpose ID: bring with you.... 

-proof of Identity (unexpired passport, consular card, Birth Certificate, unexpired drivers license) 

-SSN ineligibility form (fill out there or online) 

-proof of DC residency (utility bill, phone bill, deed, or lease with name on it) 

-proof of six month residency (dated six months before registration date) 

-$57 for Road test ( For Limited Purpose Driver's License) 

-Schedule Road Test at Road Test Center (for Limited Purpose Drivers License)
